What kills more than 20,000 Magellanic Penguins every year?
The Magellanic Penguin (Spheniscus magellanicus) has an extra predator in the waters off of Argentina where oil spills kill 20,000-22,000 birds every year.
Most of the deaths are juveniles who are not strong enough to battle the man-made pollution.
